There’s officially a 5th season – Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer, and Football Season! Some fans are representing their favorite NFL team at a bar on a Sunday evening. Other fans are cheering in the stands for their Alma Mater on a crisp Saturday afternoon. Tailgating is such a huge part of the game day experience, but it’s not always convenient or easy. We’re thinking it’s time to take a time out on the traditional tailgate and explore some different options. Here’s a few tips to score a winning touchdown on your Apartment Tailgate!
Quesadillas 4 Ways– A professional tailgater just can’t go wrong with a quesadilla. So many tortilla options, so many stuffings, so little time. Quesadillas are even great for those with dietary restrictions! You can substitute flour tortillas for corn, use vegetarian friendly stuffings, or even dairy free cheese for those with milk allergies. Flexible and yummy? Yes please.
3 Ingredient Appetizers– Who said tailgate food has to be complicated?! Nobody wants to spend their entire Apartment Tailgage in the kitchen. Check out this great list of 3 ingredient appetizers. We would be willing to bet you already have some of these items in your pantry!
Crock Pot Taco Chili– Another easy recipe that leaves more time for the game and less time over the stove. This crock pot favorite blends two favorites into one hearty bowl of goodness. Serve by itself with a garnish of cheddar cheese and sour cream, or throw it over a bed of chips for some extra crunch. Use a slow cooker liner for easy clean up… and thank us later.
Apple Cider Sangria – Sangria is perfect for large groups! It’s easy, customizable, and usually made in large batches. This sangria from Delish sings the song of fall with crisp apple notes, tangy citrus, and warm spicy ginger. It will bring you back to your favorite fall memories. Prep the ingredients, throw them in a pitcher, and take a sip. If you are feeling extra festive, serve in a cold mason jar.
Fumble Punch– Remember the last time your favorite running back fumbled the winning touch down pass? We do too (unfortunately!) When that happens, make yourself a large glass of Fumble Punch. 6 parts Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey, a few parts of various fruit juices, and a whole cup of “maybe next time” will help cure any halftime blues.
Beanbag Toss Set– Just because you are tailgating inside your apartment doesn’t mean you can’t have outdoor fun! Check out this corn-hole beanbag toss game from Target. Set it up on your balcony for a short distance toss, or rearrange the furniture for some indoor competition. Either way this game is sure to keep adults and kids alike engaged and involved! Just keep the beanbags at a pretty low velocity and stay away from breakable windows & furniture 🙂
Football Bingo– Fun for football enthusiasts and novices alike! Football Bingo is a great family friendly game and perfect for any age group. It helps to encourage participation in the game day experience as well as provide an easy way to learn the game. Make it even more competitive by throwing in a prize for the winning Bingo! Catch the spirit of football and print these bingo cards for your next Apartment Tailgate.
