This month, we’re spotlighting the Aquarena Springs Drive neighborhood
of San Marcos, Texas. This week we’ll be taking a look at the dining and entertainment options available in this North San Marcos neighborhood.
Garcia’s Mexican Food Restaurant
is beloved by the locals for its delicious chips and salsa, generous portions, and wallet-friendly prices. The waitstaff is attentive and the atmosphere is family friendly and comfortable. What more could one want with their platter of enchiladas?
is the place to go for gourmet baked potatoes and delicious fully loaded sandwiches. If you’re in a hurry, you can even call in your order fpr pick-up and if you don’t want to leave your house, Spud Ranch will deliver!
serves up breakfast and lunch, Mexican style, and is renowned for their giant tacos. Seriously, the tortilla is the size of a hubcap! So come hungry and ready to be Wowed!
For entertainment, there’s Aquarena Springs
itself! The mermaids may be gone, and Ralph the Swimming Pig may have taken his last dive, but you can still take a ride on a glass-bottomed boat, visit a museum dedicated to the water in the area, and stroll along the boardwalk through the wetlands habitat.
Are you a Disc Golf fan? Then you are going to love the Texas State Disc Golf Course
. It gets high marks for the variety of holes, with some that are long and open so you can test your distance throwing, and also ones that are tight and technical so you can practice accuracy and control. The course also gets bonus points for being easy to find. Just be sure not to park in Texas State only parking or you’ll get a ticket!
